Luigi Vampa

Leader of an Italian group of bandits and good friends with the Count of Monte Cristo. Vampa's bandits captured Albert de Morcerf during the Carnival in Rome. He was promptly resuced by the Count.

Later, he captured Baron Danglars, and, under the order of the Count, extorted him for almost 5 000 000 francs by forcing him to buy his own food for exorbeant prices. With permission from the Count, he released Danglars when he was down to his last 50 000 francs.
